DNFd about 30 pages in. It felt like I was reading someone else summarizing the characters’ stories, instead of being in the characters heads at the time it was happening, because the author kept skipping over conversations. Having the POV tell you what they talked about instead of actually letting you in on the conversation. And I’m fine with that happening sometimes. I get that’s it’s less than 80 pages to get all of the story written. But this kept happening over and over again.
I just couldn’t make myself keep reading when I was so bored and frustrated.
