The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick
4.0
Though I started this book after having watched the first episode of the TV adaptation, I must say that what I have seen so far is completely different from the novel, save for some critical plot points, which causes me to question whether the entirety of the series will be likewise or not. Regardless, what I found in this book was a remarkable little slice of fiction, perfectly unique in imagination and setting. I enjoyed that in this work, there were some interesting philosophical questions brought up, but I was less than enthused with the way some of the plot was resolved. That didn't mean I disliked the ending, but just didn't have the same enthusiasm which I expected to have. I must admit, as well, that perhaps some good portion of this books richness was lost on me by account of my not knowing some specifics about WWII. Nevertheless, I found this book very enjoyable, and though perhaps not one of my most favorites, one that I would enjoy reading again.
