The Push by Ashley Audrain

This book saddened me because I relate to it too much. I’m terrified of having children I don’t want and not loving them and traumatizing them, and I know this is a pattern that’s been a little prevalent in past generations.

This book is the epitome of what happens when you don’t communicate. When you as a woman feel the need to live life for other people unwillingly. It’s the dread of being gaslighted, not feeling heard, feeling like you can’t speak up, and doing things you don’t want to do. All combined. My greatest fears in one book.

It was so real and that’s why this book was so damn good. Honestly, I don’t think this is a psychological thriller. It’s honestly life. How a lot of women feel and go through life. Granted we don’t have psychotic daughters but we go through things in life a lot of things this book talks and touches on. Highly recommend.
