I went into this one totally blind and I’m really glad I did! This is the perfect book for people who think that Stephen King is a great writer but maybe something about his writing just doesn’t knock their socks off (he’s not my favorite, sue me). I loved the way it was written and the characters are extremely well fleshed out and lovable. My hands down favorite part is when Nate and Maddie decide things are getting too weird and they tell each other all the crazy stuff that has been happening to them, instead of keeping things to themselves and using the miscommunication tripe to further the plot. Yes!!!! Nate and Maddie are marriage/parenting goals for sure.
The book also packs plenty of creepy factor as well as mystery and a story that sucks you straight in from the beginning. Things get real bleak along the way and yet the story ends super satisfyingly and good does triumph over evil in the end.
