Aimless Love: New and Selected Poems by Billy Collins

4.0

I love Billy Collins. He has a beautiful way with words in which he can make the most mundane seem like something worth moving mountains. I have read two of his other collections: Nine Horses and Horoscopes for the Dead. I enjoy the new poems in this collection as much as I enjoy the old. I find that the more humorous ones gained a small chuckle from me but I wish there had been a few of the heavier ones added in. The poems about death and its inevitability are the ones I find most beautiful.
Below are my favorites from this collection:
Old Man in a Chinese Restaurant
A Dog to his Master
Genesis
A Question about Birds
Hangover
Cemetary Ride
Drinking Alone
Amercan Airlines #371
Obituaries
Christmas Sparrow
Statues in the Park

I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
