A cute, whimsical period fiction about a couple trying to keep their inherited family home by pretending they have children. The romance in the book is love found after marriage so that is unusual, but done really sweetly by the author. The only thing I had a hard time coping with (and almost made me DNF the book if I’m being honest) was that the MMC and FMC literally rented orphans to keep up their story!! Luckily, there was a lot of growth from this decision, but still… at first it was very unsettling. Lol. Overall, it was a cute read to change the pace of my usual books.
