Wow! This book was very difficult to read, and I could sometimes only read one chapter a day. To know that this is someone’s real life and occurs in recent history and current day is heartbreaking. This memoir is excruciating, sad, painful, tense, mind blowing, uncomfortable, and heart wrenching, but also resilient and hopeful. I feel privileged to be a witness to the author’s life, trauma and healing.
