This book was fine. The two main characters are 16 years old, and it certainly shows in their thoughts and actions and impulsivity. The premise was interesting, but the plot was a bit predictable. I knew from very early on that “Orion” was the “dead” Elder, and it was super obvious that he was the one killing the frozens. I was surprised by Elder’s little reveal at the end, but that was it.

There was one attempted-rape scene in this book and, maybe it’s cuz it was an audiobook, but I didn’t see a trigger warning for that. The predators were unsuccessful but it was definitely a bit triggering reading the vivid description.

I will be continuing the trilogy!
