Well this is a tortured and horrible story that I just couldn't put down. I still don't think you need to read the prequel, because there are more than enough flashbacks that I wish I didn't read.
It is hard to say why I liked this so much. It is one of those guilty pleasures, and probably the reason why woman contact serial killers in prison. We all love the idea of being the one to 'save' a man. The author is a master at pushing the line. I assume there will be a book for each of the fallen, and would definitely read at least one more. The match for Diel should be very interesting lol. I think I have read a similiar series with bad arse killers each 'saved' by love, but not to this extreme.
