Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez
5.0
now i understand why this book got the most popular from abby jimenez. correctly hyped and absolutely amazing. it’s been a little while since ive felt this way about a book. it really really made me feel. hooked me from the first sentence. the story was absolutely amazing, unique, heartwrecking and heartwarming at the same time. both main characters were so detailed and nuanced and real.
and spoiler alert: i didnt make the daniel - wakan - amber connection until they actually mentioned alexis and getting into wakan (it’s been a while since ive read the first book, but it definitely hit me harder this way. Especially with knowing daniel’s side of the story and what emma missed out on.
abby jimenez captures love in an unique way. in a real way. it’s all build up by the little moments, by the actions not just words. (And this kind of interconnected standalones just itch me a different but definitely right way.)
