This was a wonderful romp through Norse mythology and one girls' quest to discover the truth of herself, Order, and Chaos.

I didn't find it funny, really, as much as it was simply delightful, with the characters having a real depth, and Maddy, as one of the only 14 year old girls I actually enjoyed reading about. Its not to say that there were not funny moments in it, but the whole book is not laugh out loud funny as much as it has some chuckles in it.

But it is well worth the read for anyone who likes young adult books, fantasy, or hell, has the least bit of interest in Nordic mythology. Really, its wonderful.

I am even more surprised I liked it since I was somewhat torn about another book I read by the same author (Gentleman and Players), but this was just a completely different type, so it is rather like comparing apples to oranges.

But there is a twisty bit at the end.
