Welcome to empire falls, a dying town in Maine. The town is filled with the working poor, all except one family who owns everything and uses her wealth and power to control people. The story focuses on both the adults and teenagers of the town. The main character is catholic but his daughter is atheist. It’s a very mature book with heavy themes around bullying, gun violence, adultery, spousal abuse. The book was captivating enough.
