Daredevil (2019-) #1: Director's Cut by Chip Zdarsky

4.0

It’s been ages since I’ve read Daredevil consistently. I picked it up recently during the Man Without Fear plot, and I’ll admit that I found myself more than a little bit curious to see where things were going to go next…so here I am.
This was a great start to the new series. They really addressed the mental state Matt was in. I love that they used a romantic trope to give us an idea of things, but honestly, it did work out well.
The flashbacks were a little odd at first and sometimes felt like they were breaking the immersion of the issue. But otherwise, they were interesting.
I like where they seem to be going with this plot. Obviously, I’m guessing on the path they’re going to take, but so far I’ve enjoyed the tone and the setup, so I think it’s worth following.
