Eat a Peach by Gabe Ulla, David Chang
5.0
4.5 but rounding up because of the honesty and rawness of this memoir. It's not a 5 because I listened to the audiobook and the structure of some parts would have been easier to follow in print.
I was loosely aware of Chang before this book because of his media appearances, but I did not know much about his restaurants or history in the industry. This book was a nice introduction into his character, his professional journey, and his personal journey.
I appreciated the honest presentation of his mental health struggles. He gave a great balance of fun chef/food stories but also reflections about areas where he and the industry still need to improve.
Overall, if you like chef tales, open discussions about mental health, or introspective journeys, you'll probably like this.
