I had to read this for a college class. It was interesting, but Kerman's life in prison seemed relatively easy. Naturally, there were struggles that came with it, such as adapting to life without Larry and her friends, but she was treated well (mostly) and found good people in prison to help her. It's definitely reflective of her experience as a memoir should be but those who read this should take caution in applying it to the broader world of prisons and the criminal justice system.
