Red, White & Royal Blue
by Casey McQuiston
It was difficult for me to get into, I started the book three different times and found the characters kind of annoying at first. Obviously the politics are much more optimistic than realistic, but honestly, I appreciated it. I loved the concept of identity and how accepting queerness in yourself can also help you discover and accept other things. I really loved how they portrayed sibling relationships, it reminded me a lot of me and my sister. Bea is an ✨️icon✨️, but I did grow to be very fond of Alex towards the end. The ✨️drama✨️ was excellent, (like calling out for your lover in the pouring rain? come on) and it was very good for my Hopeless Romantic soul. I also LOVED picking out all of the Jane Austen Easter eggs, totally my bread and butter.
