When I started this, I was looking for an easy read that will have me blushing and giddy for what's going to happen. This book didn't do it. The chapters are too long, too wordy, too much. I skipped some pages and internal dialog yet I still got the gist of it.
I liked Wren and Elodie's dynamic together. The side characters were okay. Carina was a great support for Elodie. Wren's two other sidekick, Pax and Dash, weren't great. This whole setup reminded me of a weak knock-offs of the Raven Boys. Only thing missing is a ghost to represent my sweet boy, Noah.
I liked the bit of mystery added on to it but it was anticlimactic.
It would have been nice to see the relationship develop between them more rather than an almost instant occurrence when they finally did get together. I wanted more wooing. Haha.
Wren is a sweet guy though. No matter how bad his character is supposed to be. Barely saw the devil at work other than his obsession that wasn't really much. I hated his term of endearment though - "Little E". retch.
