Till We Have Faces
by C.S. Lewis
All in all, I found Till We Have Faces profound, but pretty darn boring (to put it bluntly).
Once again, C.S. Lewis has blown me away with his imagery, themes, and clarity of writing. Yet once again, C.S. Lewis has disappointed me with his storytelling. I think the man was a great thinker and an incredible communicator. But Orual was a character I barely cared about. To me, she felt like a vessel to get the themes across. In fact, much of the story felt like that, just events that communicated the theme, but weren't actually interesting or compelling in and of themselves.
3.5 Stars
