Timaeus and Critias by Plato

4.0

Judged against the general run of books I suppose anything by Plato really should get five stars; I'm giving this one four just because these aren't among the more immediately engaging of Plato's dialogues (any of Apology, Crito, Phaedo, Phaedrus, Symposium or Republic would probably have more immediate interest for the general reader). The opening section of Timaeus provides a brief summary of some of the key ideas of Republic, which is handy; these dialogues also contain Plato's version of the story of Atlantis, which might be of interest to some.
