Sadie by Courtney Summers
4.5
upon finishing this story, I realized I would have a different experience if I had read the book instead of listening to the audiobook. choosing the audiobook version was the perfect decision. the cast delivers the necessary emotion to make you invested in the story - I was so engaged to the point of getting breathless during sadie's narration.
that being said, I highly recommend the audiobook. but this isn't a light story. tw include: child abuse, pedophilia, substance abuse, underage drinking, etc. please only give this story a try if these aren't your triggers.
more than anything, sadie is about a girl's love and devotion to her sister, and the lengths she'll go to protect her and save her. I can see why some people disliked the ending, but I think it was a good conclusion to sadie's journey. I don't see it ending any other way.
