Sleep Like a Baby by Charlaine Harris

5.0

You know how you start a series, and you really like it, then it starts to go downhill? Well, I read the first book in this series ages ago, and just didn't love it (which was shocking because Charlaine Harris is one of my favorites). Then I read All the Little Liars, and it was good. So I jumped on the waiting list for Sleep Like a Baby, and it was even better!

Roe is a new mother, already exhausted, when she gets the flu right when Robin has to go out of town. They decide to have the mother's helper who helped her when Sophie was born come back for a few nights. However, Roe wakes up to find the baby crying, Virginia missing, and the dead body of Robin's stalker in the back yard.

The mystery was quick and engaging. Roe didn't try to outdo the police and seemed very human. A delightful book! I will be going back to read the rest of the series.
