The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter and Miracles by Bruce H. Lipton
2.0
I thought this book was interesting - although controversial and seen by some as quackery. It is a crash course in philosophy, science, & biology with a little bit of psychology thrown in far too late. I really think the material was interesting, but the problem was that the authors spends too much time detailing the scientific findings and leaves very little time for the actual implications of all of it. What he calls a "shift in perspective" - something to do with the idea that proteins in cells code behavior rather than genetics - could have far reaching implications. But as I said, they really aren't explored in depth. The book could easily be 4 stars if he collaborated with a great clinical psychologist who could help him with the application element of his findings.
