Normal Women: Nine Hundred Years of Making History by Philippa Gregory

informative reflective slow-paced

4.5

I simply cannot miss a single book that Philippa Gregory writes, and this one did not disappoint. While she usually writes historical fiction, this non-fiction tome focuses entirely on women over the centuries, and not just high-profile women, but normal ones.

It was enlightening, engaging and informative throughout, although I did feel a little repetitive at times. I learned so much, especially about women loving women relationships throughout history. My own preconceptions about women in the past have been changed and reflected upon thanks to the author’s research and writings. I found her conclusion and findings about gender identity also fascinating.

Not a book to miss, although it is quite the commitment to read!
