Not as Good as the First

I was so completely sucked into the first book that I had high expectations for this one. Especially given how much I liked Garrett from book 1.

It's hard to put into words what exactly fell flat for me. I think it's more repeated frustration with the mental health representation, paired with how easily the big conflict was resolved. It just didn't ring true, and in a book that is riddled with the need for suspended disbelief, some things just push too far.

I loved all the Club representation and the recurring characters I've grown connected to. Totally here for Mia's job online and how well that translated to the Club. The writing is great as always, and I didn't have any issues with their relationship or how it developed.

For most readers, this one is just as good as the first. But if you need a healthy dose of reality alongside your fantasy, then you may end up as let down as I was.
