The 5th Wave is probably one of my favorite books.

The Infinite Sea wasn't very good, but I still enjoyed it.

The Last Star is probably one of the worst books I have ever read (excluding Allegiant).

What happened Rick? And no, I'm not just pissed because of what happened at the end. I expected it probably half way through the book. I wasn't surprised at all. But no, seriously, what happened?

I loved having Cassie as a main character. I honestly laughed out loud while reading The 5th Wave. She's smart, funny, snarky, and an overall enjoyable character to read. Not so much in The Infinite Sea, especially since they started to focus more on Squad 53, but still she was funny. The Last Star completely butchered her character. Completely butchered it. Most of the time I wasn't even sure if I was reading about Cassie or not. What happened?

The story itself was boring. I feel like Rick repeated a lot of things we already knew. I was bored. There weren't any surprises, excluding
Ringer's pregnancy
, which really left me more disappointed than surprised. What a cheap plot trick. And the fact that they
named the baby after Cassie
considering she and Ringer didn't even have a decent relationship was a complete slap in the face to Cassie. Not to mention they tore her apart the entire time, calling her needy and annoying and assertive, etc. So annoying. I almost threw the book.

Zombie is basically The 5th Wave's Peeta. He's a moron. Gets shot here, gets shot there, makes a bad decision here, makes a bad decision there. But he's cute and charming so I guess that redeems him? Not sure.

You can fit Ringer's emotional depth in a peanut. The bitch is a robot and apparently the main character of this book. Pass.

I can't even write out a good review because my thoughts are all over. All I know is I didn't like this book and I didn't like the way Cassie was represented in this book. The ending was very final, so there won't be any additional books in the future.

I wish I had stopped reading this series after The 5th Wave.
