Mallory Quinn is eighteen months sober and desperate to get her life back on track. She takes a summer job as a full-time nanny to Teddy Maxwell, a five-year-old boy who is rarely without a pencil and sketchbook. At first, his drawings are the usual fare—trees, rabbits, flowers, balloons—but one day, he draws something different: a man in a forest, dragging a woman's lifeless body. As Teddy's drawings become more detailed, Mallory begins to suspect these images are glimpses of an unsolved murder. What ensues is a fast-paced, supernatural story detailing just how far one might go to protect their secrets.
