Into the Magic Shop by James R. Doty
2.0

Not what I expected. Hoped it would be about neuroscience. It's not. Dr. Doty tells his life story, and how by imagining things metaphysical powers make them real, but this power is like the monkey's paw. If you imagine yourself locking up criminals, it may be your father you end up locking up. Mostly a bunch of new-age garbage, with some scientific terminology to give it the veneer of legitimacy, and Dr. Doty talking about how great he is, and how hard his struggles were to overcome. I'm sure he is a great guy, but I got really sick of the narcissism and magical thinking.
