A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
4.0
What I liked:
- The graphic audiobook is outstanding! I highly recommend listening to it since it’s so well produced.
- The Beauty & The Beast vibes. It was fun to catch all the similarities and the differences too.
- The last hundred pages or so that was full of action.
What I disliked:
- It was slow. I had been warned this and it’s true. If it wasn’t for the audiobook, I probably would’ve struggled. There’s a lot of information and I had to go back a lot to reread parts to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. But I understand that the world building was needed to set up the series.
- It wasn’t until I was reading it that I realized how spoiled this book is. It’s everywhere, and without me realizing, I knew a lot of spoilers. That really affected my experience unfortunately.
- The very ending. I was expecting to feel the urge to continue, and honestly, I’m fine to pause. I know that book 2 is the fan favourite, but right now I actually don’t feel an urge to keep going. I’m going to take some time to read something else and come back to book 2 later.
Overall, I really enjoyed it and it’s well thought out. I love the world they’re in and I’m excited to continue the series at some point.
