Set in the Windy City of Chicago, Kira, who is a struggling thespian, gets a big break. She's heard that working with Malcom Mercer is torture, but she is highly intrigued. Malcom's assistant, Joanna, sees Kira as her next threat to defeat.
•
•
As Kira dives deeper into her role, she also falls deeper into Malcom's hand. Schocking and surprising secrets bubble to the surface only for Kira to try and push them down. As opening night rolls around, a true darkness larger than Malcom, takes center stage.

Kira is one of those characters that throws everything she has into her art. Think... Black swan ish. She's not just in the play, she IS the play. Incredibly edgy and power hungry, she begins to meet her match, or so she thinks.
•
•
Malcom is sadistic and seductive in his own way. The bad boy you can't let go. But as he pushes Kira further and further, on stage and off, it's not Malcom who rises to the top. Kira truly shows her colors and the last page will leave you breathless.

I loved Layne's writing on her two books now, and I crave more!
