It took me a little bit to get into this at first and I sometimes struggled to keep up with the timeline as Danny, the narrator jumps around the past and present, but I ended up really loving this novel. My favorite parts included Patchetts writing and attention to detail as I could really picture what it was like to grow up inside the Dutch House, and I found myself very comforted by Danny and Maeve's relationship as they grew up with only each other for solace and guidance. Truly a remarkable book that felt warm and like home.
