A Fragile Enchantment by Allison Saft

4.0

"All I ask is for you to get to know me on a deep, intimate level while I resist and obstruct your every attempt to do so" is by far one of my favorite types of characters. Sorry you stick the name Kit on someone and I have no choice but to love them with my whole heart, I don't make the rules.

For the most part I really enjoyed the story. The characters were all so much fun for me to be around, especially when they were playing in the park. I loved the sense of the magic and I felt like there was enough there that I was satisfied with it.

I also appreciate that the ending wasn't "And everything is great and fixed now!" but rather a hopeful feeling that things will get that way in time. It still felt a little underwhelmingish but I did enjoy it.

My biggest issue is probably the message of the book being repeated so, so many times. It did make me a little teary the first time or so but I'm like okay, okay we understand by the twentieth time. It just needed a little polishing there.

I also would have liked another conversation between Jack and Kit as well as between Kit and Sinclair (can we call him Gabriel pls) and also some kind of Thing with Sinclair's father would have been nice to throw in. Possibly even like Niamh's mother and grandmother being there at the end or!! her and Kit going to visit them.

Overall I did like it a lot and I am pressing Kit into a little locket right now, but I think it could have had just a bit more oomph.
