Suicide Forest by Jeremy Bates

3.0

Overall, this was a decent read. The group dynamics were the major focus of the majority of the book. The forest itself, however, plays very little in the development of the story. Normally, this wouldn't be a major issue. Given that the reader is dropped into what would be considered one of the scariest places in the world, however, I expected it to factor more. Yes, the tone is set by the suicidal creepiness of the locale. I just feel that this is underused as an element of the story. Much of the action could have taken place in a different location without altering the story.
