β€œI talk to you as I talk to my own soul."

After finishing Outlander last year, I knew I wanted to pick up the second book, Dragonfly in Amber, but I needed a little motivation. The book is over 800 pages, and the audiobook is just shy of 39 hours 😳 But I buddy read this with a friend, and I am so glad I decided to continue with my Outlander adventure.

Diana Gabaldon is one of the most incredible writers I have ever encountered. Her attention to detail is one of a kind, and I can’t imagine the amount of research that goes into just one of her books. She has this incredible way of transporting me back in time and bringing everything to life. It’s not always easy to read (violence), but I will always appreciate what she puts into her books.

The start of Dragonfly in Amber made me stop and ensure I was starting with the right book because we were in the 1960s with Claire and Brianna. But no signs of Jamie anywhere. But, then we were back with him and reading 18th century Scotland. This addition of the present day was an excellent addition to the story as it hinted at what was to come for Claire.

I finished Dragonfly in Amber in just under ten days and am already itching to start Voyager.
