The Bird and the Sword

I'm SO UNWELL THIS WAS SO GOOD
"Words can be terrible when the truth is unwelcome."
This book!!!!! I was honestly not expecting to adore this as much as I did.
This book follows Lark, a woman without a voice in a world ravaged by war. Her mother silenced her as a child in an attempt to protect her from the people who would want to harm her for her gift. She's taken as a hostage of the king, Tiras,(a very bad thing to do but I'm in love with him pls look away) in order to encourage Lark's father to send reinforcements to the war effort. But love n chaos ensues
