The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel

5.0

Combines two of my interests : Psychology and Money. One of the best books to read if you're looking to educate yourself financially. Lots of lessons are consolidated in a good thought provoking format with anecdotes, historical examples and impactful psychological quotes about human behavior. This is a great intro but you'd appreciate it even more if you have experience and your own personal investment strategies. The chapter about history being a study of change and not a predictor of future despite the concept being unpopular in the financial industry is reaffirming. It's exhausting to see how deluded people can get if they think they can draw two lines on a candlestick chart and predict the movement in a game where the win conditions and play time are different for players. Several thoughts were refreshingly new while some touched upon why optimism is like a sales pitch while pessimism sounds like someone trying to help you. There is great value in reading this book and I highly recommend it.
