Murder at the Vicarage
by Agatha Christie
3⭐. I love the introduction of Miss Marple and she's probably my favorite old detective. Honestly Agatha Christine is a much better mystery writer than Arthur Conan Doyle. Thing is for the first book of Miss Marple series, there's not a lot of Miss Marple. The narrator is boring ass clergy man. Also most part of the book is boring and only the final reveal was satisfying. Not the queen's best book (i still love Then There was None and Murder on the Orient Express with my whole heart). Also the casual racism is a bit unbearable. Yes, let's compare someone who wants to see the emporer of China to murderers. The "moral degradation" lmao. Fucking hilarious considering UK bombed the shit out of my country only three decades earlier to the publish of this book and WE'RE SOMEHOE THE MORAL DEGRADATION. the audacity.
