adventurous challenging funny informative inspiring mysterious medium-paced

4.0

Thoughts: I enjoyed this one. We start off with a bang and we continue to be entertained along the way. I do think that the narrator (Amir Abdullah) made this story so much more enjoyable with his expressive tone. His was EXCELLENT with the many voices he portrayed. Great job.

Ashe Cayne was my kind of PI. This guy sites Shakespeare and was serious about his golf. I love his approach and his witty personality all while being serious. I was intrigued with the crimes committed as well as the additional breadcrumbs that were planted in this story. I loved how all of the clues came together. He didn’t drag the story along and I appreciated this.

If I’m being honest I felt that the ending was a little lackluster. I enjoyed the build up and when I got to the point of learning the why, I felt a little let down. In hindsight I get it but in the moment I wanted more.

I would recommend this as I definitely enjoyed it. It was entertaining and again, I loved Cayne’s witty personality. I will look into the other books in this series as I enjoyed Dr. Smiths writing.
