The Hundred Years' War on Palestine by Rashid Khalidi

5.0

if you are someone who wants to learn more about what has been going on in palestine, why this goes so far beyond october 7th, this is the right book. it's a very lucid, detailed and yet straightforward analysis of the settler colonial project that has been taking place on palestinian land since the british mandate, and how western powers had a crucial hand in perpetuating and financing it. it was difficult to learn how everything we see now has happened many times before - the gaslighting, the media coverage, the manipulating of information, the dehumanisation of palestinians. the author is very good at making the information digestible without dumbing it down, so it's a good entry point even if you're not familiar with the history of the region.
