Going into this I decided not to read the blurb and just see where it took me. And honestly, I wasn’t disappointed. I know the 3 stars may say otherwise but I did enjoy the book just didn’t think it was anything incredible. I am a huge fan of best friends to lovers and I think I’ve grown to like when there are a lot of flashbacks or the friendship is heavily showcased. This was not that, and that’s because this was a best friends to enemies to lovers that focused more on the now aspect. There are side characters that are introduced that you know probably have great stories about the leads but they never get told. I feel like if the back story or the friendship was more prominent I probably would have rated it higher. All in all it is a good book and the balance of the plot, romance, spice and sports was quite harmonious.
