The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune

5.0

This book made me smile more than any other book I've read this year. All of the children were lovable in their own ways, but I especially loved Chauncey and Lucy. Klune's writing reads very much like middle-grade, which I think added to the magical feeling of the book. There really isn't too much of a discernible plot, which I typically get bored by, but I surprisingly enjoyed the whimsicality of the setting and getting to know the characters.
