I put off this review for hours because i was so mentally drained after finishing this book.

- The plot was so slow and was filler 90% of the time. There were so many pointless sentences, backstory that had no connection to the plot, and just explanation that it was sloggg to get through. This book is also so long for no reason
It was also super confusing when you first started out because there were so many new made up words and places that were basically meant to be another language that just werent explained. This meant that you had to keep track of what so many things were in your brain that it was confusing and painful.
The world building in this is so bad. I basically couldnt tell where the characters were half the time. they would mention a place and it would seem like its just a short boat ride away but they say its a compleately different country and im just confused about the map of this place. it also doesnt help that im reading this on a kindle so its basically impossible for me to go back to the map at the front without loosing my place in the book. So it was annoying and felt like the author was just relying on the map being there to make her explanations in the book make sense which i dont appreciate.
I also hated how crazily dangerous their world was like it was so overdramatic that it ruined the effect it was supposed to have. Everyone was basically pickpocketing to survive, or being forced into sex work, living on the streets homeless, dying of disease or getting killed by a gang. This made the world feel more like dystopia (ik ik dystopia is fantasy but theres a difference in my head) instead of a fantasy world but maybe thats just me. But i just would always roll my eyes at how unsafe the city (country?) was described at being.

- I hate dual perspective books most of the time and this is no exception. Tbh though most of the perspectives read in the exact same tone of voice and the personality never changed, the only thing that changed was the character that was referred to as I or me or my etc.
The dual perspective also added to the slowness of the book because we basically would have one charcter tell their entire backstory and then explain their point of view for a scene in the book, then it would jump to another character and they would tell their backstory and then their perspective for the exact same scene.
Basically there were too many characters for the story to keep track of so the author had to tell us what each character was doing at the time the other characters were doing something else to make sure there were no plotholes, and to avoid having the character just stand there like a lemon for an hour.

- Hated most of the characters. I agree that they should be aged up as it makes no sense why having them be 16 and 17 makes them more realistic or likable. Also its sooooo funny thinking of a 17 year old acting like Kaz. If a 17 came up to me and started acting like him i would start laughing in his face. It just felt so fake and like an act, wannabe james bond vibes.
Also they are meant to all be super good at specific things and have crazy talents that no one else has, but nowhere in the plot do i see them do something spectacular. basically everything they did i would assume anyone else with the same kinda basic skill they have would have been able to do it as well. Them being described as a one of a kind team just felt a little dramatic.
Also hated how they all had tragic backgrounds. this isnt just a criticism i have for six of crows i often feel this way about other books too. I just find that when characters have traumatic backgrounds they will just randomly trauma dump on you for no reason, and its like im meant feel bad for them but i just want to move on with the plot stop going off track.
I also hated how everyone had a pairing. When everyone has a pairing it just feels a little too fake and scripted like the romance is false. I would have preferred some characters to stay single and not mention having feelings for another person, maybe because i hated everyone so i didnt really care about their relationships either.
I also hated nina the most i dont why everyone loves her so much. But i definitely prefer the relationship between inej and kaz than between nina and mathias. Maybe im biased though because i think mathias is way to good for nina.
