The Mother-Daughter Book Club by Heather Vogel Frederick

5.0

The Mother-Daughter book club sees four girls whose mothers decide to start a mother-daughter book club.

Writer and reader Emma is keen, as is her Librarian mother. Tomboy Cassidy is more interest in Hockey than in reading but her ex-model and recently widowed mother is more than happy to sign her up anyway.

Brainy, science-loving Jess is the only one whose Mother is far away and not part of the group. She's trying her hand at acting in New York while Jess' father looks after the farm and tries on the role of both mother and father.

Then theres Megan- one of the 'Fab Four' whose constantly picking on the other girls. Her tree-hugging mother has no idea that the other girls are not cool enough for Megan or that Megan has secret aspirations to be a fashion designer.

This book was really great in showing how the book brought the mothers and daughters together. I see it all the time in my own mother-daughter book group!
