ufcasey 's review for:
Master of Crows
by Grace Draven
This author creates plot ideas that are so interesting, but unfortunately I have yet to rate any of them higher than 3 stars because there is a certain lack of excitement in the execution of any of them:
- In [b:Radiance|24473763|Radiance (Wraith Kings, #1)|Grace Draven|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1422721500s/24473763.jpg|40780371], the idea of being forced into marriage with someone you view as looking a little like a corpse is such an interesting concept, but there wasn't much else to the plot and villains were flat.
- In [b:Entreat Me|18811222|Entreat Me|Grace Draven|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1384700749s/18811222.jpg|26746176] we get an interesting take on a Beauty-and-the-Beast-esque plot but the ending was weak, the attraction between the characters wasn't particularly believable, and the ending didn't make a lot of sense.
- In this book, we have a man possessed by an evil God and a woman who may either save him or ruin him. But once again the villain/God is kind of flat and themaybe ending is a little nonsensical if you think about it too much.
I almost wish this author sold her book ideas to someone else to write them out. I know that's harsh. But the ideas and some of the characters are still good enough to consistently get 3 stars so maybe with time she will hit a book I will really love instead of just like.
