World of Warcraft Chronicle: Volume 1 by Blizzard Entertainment
4.0

Basically the Silmarillion for Warcraft lore. This first volume starts at the creation of the universe, tens of thousands of years before the first game. The text is frequently accompanied with full page illustrations and maps. The lore is rich and deep, but I have to knock off a star because it gets a little dry at times. Also, the Pandaren and Mogu lore feels shoehorned in. A good place to start with the lore if you want to know the general plot of the Warcraft universe without having to read the dozens of novels.
