Once Upon a Crime by Michael Buckley
3.0

Book 4: Once upon a crime OR in which Sabrina is overprotective
this book loses the magic that was a lot of the other books while it still had its moments there were a few vital things missing that just made it lose its spark

~New York city - despite how much ferryport landing may be annoying you by this point when you escape into New York you no longer have quite the same believability or nearly as many well-known creatures (I have to wonder quite what Buckleys definition of a fairy-tale and therefor an ever after is because it does get to the point where you half expect to see harry potter running around)
~NO PUCK
Spoiler well ok SOME puck but he spends most of his time as a floating orb ... but he still manages to cover Sabrina in the obligatory stink

~inconsistency - this book jumps away from what they were told in the other books. in just the last book Sabrina got into all sorts of trouble for using magic and yet when Daphne uses the wand she is the brilliant smart one who is doing the right thing for getting involved (although it is nice that they are bringing some magic back)
Spoiler Bess being the cow that jumped over the moon, i am pretty sure we are told fairly early on she does not exist

However despite all that the book still makes a nice chapter in the series and almost seems to mark an end for the problems that have been developing up till now. i.e. Sabrina’s personality defects and the Grimm sisters lack of experience in anything that may help (like a basic knowledge of fairy-tales perhaps)
