A man left on the doorstep of the fellowship of puzzle makers’ house sets about finding out where he came from. It took a little while to get into the story but once gripped it didn’t let go. The development of Clayton as he finds himself is nicely done and you feel that you walk with him every step on his journey. The other characters are well written and their eccentricities are embedded in their stories. Not a huge reveal at the end but a gentle encouragement that family is more than who you are related to.
