Saturnine by Dan Abnett

This was another strong entry in the series, it did take some time to warm up but I felt that was deliberate to build towards the climatic finale act, and that's definitely the strongest section of the book especially with key characters facing off and the loyalists and traitor plans that are the focus of the first part of the book going into action, angron despite having little presence in this book still manages one of the best scenes, the human perspectives are a bit hit or miss, I enjoyed the "remembrancers" parts, witnessing what's happening amongst the human troops, Keelers subplot was a bit dull but thankfully also the shortest, the sisters of silence was probably my favourite POV here and the voice actor did a terrific job, it could have been a little shorter but it wasn't too bad, the biggest problem I have is that I get the feeling that the series is a little disconnected, obviously with different writers on each book this can happen, I would be curious to see how they planned the series out before starting, it feels that no one was overseeing the series as a whole, I was hoping it would be more like one big book broken into small section but it is obvious the books stand somewhat apart from one another, this way it feels each book has its own objective and wraps up nicely making the ending more gratifying but it also breaks up the siege as a single event.
