Well, that sure was something. I completely understand why The Teacher is a controversial book.
Eve is stuck in a seemingly loveless marriage with her perfect husband, Nate. They both work as teachers at a high school where they have the same student: Addie. Last year, Addie got a teacher fired, but Eve seems to be the only one of the pair who is worried about Addie and her behavior because Nate has made Addie his pet project.
This was a VERY dark and twisty book. I did enjoy the ending where even more secrets are revealed.
I’m giving 3.75 ⭐️ mostly for the subject matter and the slow burn being a little too slow.
It was great getting both Addie’s and Eve’s perspectives of Nate, but I really didn’t like hearing the POV of a pedophile. 🤢 I do think the author treated the subject matter with care, but I think content warnings and a note afterward about seeking help would have been a great touch.
