A Throne of Wings and Embers is the final book in The Forbidden Heir Trilogy written by Emilia Jae. This story follows Elianna Valderre and Jace Cadoria as they prepare for war. After moving into the human sanctuary Alaia, as the rightful queen and heir of the realm, Elianna is thrust into her role of not only acting as a warrior of an army but also becoming a leader of human and Fae alike. Elianna along with her court work tirelessly to end a centuries long war and finally defeat the evil imposter queen who resides on the throne.

This book was action-packed, and it evoked every emotion from me. It made me cry, rage, gasp, smile, and laugh. I love these characters so much, and we were able to see their growth with the multiple POVs. I personally loved that we got the entire story through the usage of multiple POVs. The world building in this book and the others is insane. I feel like I can draw out a map of the realm without glancing at the map provided to us in the beginning of the book. Elianna was so frustrating and brilliant. She is strong, resilient, and beyond stubborn. I love how she was humbled and her court/family balanced her out. I love how everything came together. There were a few twists I was so shocked by. I loved the ending and finale of the book. In other books, you go from making a plan in 5 seconds straight to executing that plan and war. This book did not skip over any of it and built it up well. We got to see the planning, prioritizing your people, forging alliances, and every step before the war. My only complaint is that I wanted MORE and was not ready for it to end. If you are an adult fan of fantasy with mythical creatures, magic, humans, Fae, and deep characters, then this book/series is definitely for you. I highly recommend it!

Thank you SO much, Emilia Jae, for the masterpiece and the opportunity to read this. I was very lucky to have gotten a chance to read this book, and I look forward to following all of your future works.
