This was an emotionally charged read. It was filled with a lot of self doubt from our LFMC, Lila. She really goes through a lot of emotional turmoil throughout this book. The LMMC, Dean is a really patient person throughout. He guides her and helps her discover that she is worth loving and so much more. But she struggles with believing she can have both, love and a career.
It all starts with a chance meeting on an airplane that will change Lila's life forever. But her life is not the only one that will change. Dean's life changes as well, starting with a phone call. Two people on different paths toward a future that neither of them ever imagined. Lila is not the only person who has emotional damage. Dean has as well and you will see his past come to light throughout this book. But he is a strong person and his damage is not as deep as Lila's.
This book is a heartwarming story. I loved the cast of characters in the book. It is a steady paced read with a lot of moving pieces. There were times I felt the book needed to bring more depth to some of those pieces. There were some times where conversations were remembered by our characters that were not included in the book during the time frame that they took place. This threw me off a tad bit. Especially when I felt they would have had more clarity if they had been introduced as they were happening in the scene. I found some scenes that reminded me of a deleted scenes reel from a movie as well. This gave me a tad bit of lost feeling as well. But overall they don't take away from the story.
I loved this story and the it's beautiful characters. I can't wait to see what is next for Coral Bell Cove.
